"Captain EO," the 3-D musical adventure starring the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, is returning to Disneyland on Tuesday.
The 17-minute film, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and produced by George Lucas, stars Jackson as titular Captain EO on his quest to change the world, according to the Disney blog.
A new 70mm print of the film will be shown "and it will sound better than ever thanks to acoustic enhancements made to the theater since the film last played there in 1997," Heather Hust Rivera, Disneyland Resort's manager print and social media, wrote on the Disney Parks Blog.
Some special effects elements from the original presentation cannot be replicated, Rivera wrote.
"It will really be interesting to see how people react," Disney spokeswoman Michele Himmelberg told the Orange County Register. "This is really our tribute to bring it back and let our fans enjoy it."
The musical will once again be shown in the Tomorrowland theater, the same venue in which it debuted back in 1986.
