California teenager Jake Davidson’s video asking supermodel Kate Upton to prom went viral Tuesday after the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model responded to his tweet with a hopeful maybe and that she would check her schedule.
On Wednesday morning, Davidson, 17, got a second chance to convince Upton to be his prom date when she called in during his live interview on the "Today" show.
After some initial shock and speechlessness, Davidson pitched his invite again promising Upton a great evening of fine dining and a possible extension of his 11 p.m. curfew.
“If everything works out, I’d love to go with you,” Upton told the teen.
The video invitation had caught the American model's attention and she responded to Davidson’s video invitation Tuesday evening.
"How could I turn down that video! I'll check my schedule ;)," she tweeted.
The creative video, which amassed 100,000 hits since Tuesday, shows Davidson poolside, reading a copy of Sports Illustrated with Kate Upton on the cover and claiming that he and Upton had a lot in common.

“You’re the ying to my yang. I’m Jewish, 5’9 on a really good day – and I can’t dance at all," Davidson says in the video. " You’re Christian, 5’10, and that Cat Daddy video should have won an Oscar for best short film – you could say this is destiny.”
“I absolutely loved the video, so hilarious and so creative!” Upton said on the "Today" show.
The model also approved of Davidson’s choice to get her a wrist corsage over a corsage pin. “Classy, I love it,” Upton said.
