A fire that was sparked in Whittier burned through 45 acres as it moved north toward Hacienda Heights Thursday.
The fire was reported at 5 p.m. at Colima Road and Mar Vista Street, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Los Angeles County fire Inspector Frederic Stowers said the blaze, reported shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, was 100 percent contained about three hours later.
The fire broke out near Colima Road and burned through medium to heavy brush in very steep terrain. The fire was pushed by 6-8 mph winds with occasional gusts.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
About 150 firefighters were at the scene. Two Super Scoopers also attacked the wildfire.
