Police are still searching for clues in how two Simi Valley neighbors, one man and one woman, ended up dead on a front yard at the end of the street. Beverly White reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.

A woman and a man were found dead in the front yard of a home Tuesday, according to authorities in Simi Valley.

Police said they responded to a call shortly after 7 a.m. about two unidentified people, a male and female, who were dead in the front yard of a residence in the 3300 block of Billie Court (map).

Officials said the pair had "no domestic relationship" and that they were neighbors.

One handgun was recovered from the scene, but police said they would not discuss whether both victims had gunshot wounds until autopsies were performed.

Police said the deaths appeared to be an isolated incident and they were not searching for an attacker.

Simi Valley police said they have "no reason to believe any suspects are outstanding," and finding the motive is the biggest part of their investigation.

The two victims lived in adjacent homes at the end of the block, police said. Officials would not confirm whether the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide.
