A man was fatally shot on a residential street in Arcadia Sunday, police said.
The sound of gunshots was heard about 9 a.m. near the 1000 block of South Fifth Avenue, where a man was lying in the street with a gunshot wound, according to a news release written by Arcadia Police Department Lt. Mike Castro.
The wounded man was taken to a hospital, Castro said. He was later pronounced dead.
Detectives were investigating but no motive for the shooting was apparent. The shooting victim, a man in his 50s, has not been identified, nor has a possible shooter.
Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 626-574-5150.
Resident Christos McClain said he heard five gunshots, then ran to perform CPR on the victim.
"It could've been any of us. It could've been my mom, any of our close neighbors, it could've been any of our neighbors walking down the street," McClain said. "It's just a little scary to know that it happened this morning."
