An 18-year-old California student was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening to shoot, stab and assault staff members at a Yucca Valley high school.
Officers received information that a Black Rock High School student, identified as Matthew Ross, made threats about staff members on Wednesday.
After learning of the threat, a search warrant was served at Ross’ Twentynine Palms home in the 7700 block of Sahara Avenue.
Deputies and detectives found a loaded rifle, hundreds of rounds of rifle and shotgun ammunition, large hunting knives and crossbows, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Ross was arrested on suspicion of criminal threats and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
