All lanes of the northbound 5 Freeway in Sun Valley reopened after a crash caused a pickup truck to go up in flames and forced traffic to a standstill during the start of Wednesday afternoon's rush hour.
The crash involving the pickup and another vehicle, possibly a two-door car, took place at Lankershim Boulevard, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
A preliminary LAFD report said two people were being treated for burns.
The crash initially forced the closure of all northbound lanes. Multiple lanes of the southbound side of the freeway were also shut down down as firefighters worked at the scene.
