A commerical fire erupted in the Sawtelle neighborhood of West Los Angeles Wednesday night.
The sturcture fire was reported at 1515 South Westgate Ave. at approximately 7:50 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was not immediatly clear what started the fire.
Santa Monica Boulevard was completely blocked off as fire crews worked to calm the flames and battle the fire. LAFD said 77 firefighters were in defensive mode at approximately 8:35 p.m.
At 9:49 p.m., the fire was knocked down by the 83 firefighters on scene, according to the LAFD. Crews required one hour and 19 minutes to declare the knockdown, and no injuries were reported, according to the LAFD.
