A plane with Los Angeles Dodgers players on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport Sunday after experiencing mechanical problems, airport officials said.
United Airlines Flight 2207 was bound for Dallas from San Diego at about 8:20 p.m. when the pilot reported "mechanical issues," forcing the aircraft to be diverted to L.A., said LAX spokeswoman Nancy Castles.
Infielder Justin Turner posted on Instagram that the plane had problems with its stabilizer.
"#NotSoHappyFlight," he wrote.
The team wrapped up a series against the San Diego Padres on Sunday and was scheduled to play against the Texas Rangers on Monday.
"Just Landed.... In LA. #happynothappyflight." tweeted Dodgers slugger Adrian Gonzalez. "Problems with plane, switching planes!"
Catcher A.J. Ellis seemed to keep his sense of humor through the incident.
