A man driving a stolen car was taken into custody after leading sheriff's deputies on a slow-speed pursuit Tuesday.
The chase began about 4:21 p.m at Biola Avenue and Mansa Drive in La Mirada, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials said. Deputies said the Honda Civic had been stolen in Anaheim on Aug. 13.
With its windshield wipers on, the car slowly traveled through surface streets before arriving to the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Marquardt Avenue in Cerritos, where deputies put down spike strips.
The man attempted to flee in another direction by driving over a median strip but bottomed out. Deputies on foot rushed to the car with their guns drawn, pulled the man out of the car and handcuffed him.
