Los Angeles County firefighters needed nearly an hour to knock down a fast-moving fire inside a mattress factory in South Gate Friday night.
The blaze broke out inside the commercial building in the 9500 block of California Avenue about 9:37 p.m., according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Ray Dong.
Between 50 and 75 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, Dong said. The flames were extinguished about 59 minutes later. No injuries were reported, Dong added.
A power outage also occurred in the same area, according to media reports. It was not immediately clear what caused the outage.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
