A greater-alarm fire tore through a door and hardware manufacturing business in Sun Valley Monday, but no one was injured.
Firefighters were forced to battle the blaze in the 11600 block of Tuxford Street from outside the structure, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles fire Department.
The one-story building was gutted and a plume of smoke was visible for miles.
About 90 firefighters responded to the blaze, which was reported at 1:50 p.m. and took 53 minutes to knock down.
There was no immediate word on what sparked the fire.
