Authorities are searching for a Fontana man who may have been attacked and abducted on his way to work Friday morning.
Neighbors called police about 5 a.m. Friday saying they could hear a person calling for help in the 6800 block of Beechcraft Avenue, the Fontana Police Department said in a news release.
Officers arrived to find the scene of a struggle in which Alejandro Padilla, 40, was attacked in front of his home and possibly abducted. There were fresh tire tracks in Padilla's front yard and blood spattered on the driveway, garage door and utility box.
Investigators believe Padilla was seriously hurt in the attack.
He and his car – a black 2009 Nissan Versa with California license plate 6GZF702 – still had not been found Friday evening.
Late Friday, police said they were investigating a car that resembles Padilla's and was found in Rialto.
Friends and relatives say they will gather at 8 a.m. Saturday to canvass the neighborhood and search for their loved one.
