A riot broke out in Huntington Beach on Sunday and citizens took to social media to help police identify people involved in the disturbance.
Concerned citizens used Twitter and Facebook to send photos of rioters -- including a stop sign-wielding man -- to police, hoping they could be identified.
The angry crowd assembled out on the ninth and final day of the Vans U.S. Open of Surf. Members of the crowd vandalized property and businesses, clashed with police, overtuned portable toilets and brawled with one another on the streets.
As of Tuesday, police arrested at least seven people, including teenagers, in connection with the riot.
