Janitors and activists held a protest in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, calling for an end to sexual harassment, assault and wage theft in the janitorial industry, organizers said.
The march began at noon at Olympic Boulevard and Figueroa Street and was expected to end at Pershing Square.
The protest, called "Ya Basta!" or "Enough," is part of a series of demonstrations aross the state.
The march will coincide with SEIU USWW's first week of contract talks with property maintenance contractor companies that service businesses across California, organizers said.
Traffic is expected in the area through the afternoon.
