Very Good Dog: K-9 Rescues Kidnapped Girl

A K-9 named Deja was a doggone hero Tuesday after tracking down the scent of a kidnapped girl and not resting until she was rescued in Rancho Cucamonga.

A girl went missing from her home around 3 a.m. Tuesday, prompting a search in the mountains, according to the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department.

Deja and her San Bernardino County Sheriff's Twin Peaks Station handler arrived, helping to find the girl after she was seen being taken by an unknown man into the woods.

The girl's purse was found in the area, and deputies found drag marks.

Deja jumped into action, sniffing around the girl's tracks. Deja began trailing the scent up into a wooded area where a house was found.

The dog sniffed all the way up to the front door, refusing to leave.
