Two sheriff's deputies were released from the hospital Thursday morning after being critically hurt in a multi-car crash in Pomona the night before, authorities said.
The deputies were responding to a call when the wreck happened about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Avenue and Valley Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Two vehicles -- a sport-utility vehicle and a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department patrol car -- were involved in the crash, a fire official said. The SUV was knocked onto its side in the collision, aerial footage showed.
Two deputies, both men, were released from the hospital by 7 a.m. Thursday after being treated for injuries, said LASD Sgt. Wessel.
The driver of the SUV, a 57-year-old West Covina man, was seriously hurt. There were no updates on the other driver's condition, but officials said he was in a better state than the deputies when he was hospitalized.
