A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning after a mother and son allegedly attacked him during a family disturbance call.
The deputy arrived at a home in Compton around 1 a.m. and found two brothers fighting, LASD said. One of the brothers ran away and the other allegedly turned his aggression towards the apprehending deputy.
According to LASD, the deputy used minor force of a “personal weapon” to overpower the attacker.
As the deputy was taking the man into custody, the man’s mother attacked the deputy in an attempt to prevent her son from being taken away.
With the help of additional law enforcement, the mother and son were both taken into custody and now face charges of assault on a police officer.
