Long Beach lifeguards were in for a surprise when they were called out to bridge, only to find an owl in need of rescuing Thursday.
The barn owl became caught in a fishing line. The tiny bird was hanging off the 2nd Street bridge when officials arrived.
Two lifeguards saved the owl by safely catching it with a net, then held the smiling bird with thick gloves.
