LOS ANGELES -- District 15 Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who is running for re-election, said funerals and other district duties kept her away from casting thousands of city votes.
Her opponent, Chris Salabaj, brought the councilwoman's voting record into question on his website:
"Janice had over 2,000 absent votes in 2008, approximately 500 of those issues were pertaining to our district. WHERE WAS SHE? While this might seem petty, it shows a lack of responsibility."
"Many times, I've had to miss city council meetings, because I've had to go to a funeral," Hahn said.
