A pursuit of a stolen truck across Inland Empire freeways ended in a multicar crash in San Bernardino Tuesday afternoon.
The chase began when California Highway Patrol reported locating a reported stolen white GMC pickup being driven on the 10 Freeway in Pomona just before 1:30 p.m.
According to CHP, the truck was equipped with a tracking device that was being monitored by the owner of the truck. The truck is registered to Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The driver of the truck exited the freeway and San Bernardino police officers took over the chase, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.
Before 2 p.m., at Olive Street and Sierra Way, the driver crashed into at four parked cars, according to police.
Aerial footage from NewsChopper4 showed the truck appeared to be a utility truck of some kind, with tools in the truckbed.
The driver was taken into custody. The driver complained of pain, and no one else was injured in the crash. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
