One adult was killed early Monday morning in a Willowbrook garage fire, authorities said.
It was reported at 3:32 a.m. at 2157 East 124th St., said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Kyle Sanford.
The attached garage was fully involved when firefighters arrived, Sanford said. The flames were out at 3:48 a.m.
"During the secondary search we found one deceased adult," Sanford said.
A woman outside the triplex where the fire happened told NBC4 she believes the person found dead is her father, who was living in the garage.
The garage sustained extensive damage and the attached house had smoke damage, he said. In all, five adults and four children were displaced.
One of the adults had trouble breathing and was treated at the scene, he said.
