A man was found dead after firefighters responded to a house fire in Van Nuys early Saturday morning, fire officials said.
The fire was reported around 4:06 a.m. at a home in the 14000 block of W. Archwood Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters found a deceased person in the back room of the home, according to the LAFD.
Firefighters knocked down the fire around 4:24 a.m., according to the LAFD.
Three firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries during the fire. Two were transported to a hospital with second-degree burns and one was released at the scene, according to the LAFD.
The gender and identification of the deceased person was not known.
The Smoke Alarm Field Education program was scheduled to canvass the neighborhood around 9 a.m. and provide smoke alarms to those who need them, according to the LAFD.
