An alleged gunman was shot and killed by deputies following a SWAT standoff in East LA early Tuesday morning.
Deputies initially responded to a domestic disturbance call and reports of a shooting at 117 N. Gage Ave. One woman had been taken to a hospital in unknown condition after allegedly being shot by the man.
The 35-year-old man reportedly shot a woman in front of the house just before 3 a.m. He tried to get back inside the home where there were two children, but he could not get back in, according to an NBC4 report. It is unclear what the man's relationship was to the woman.
The man had been walking up and down the street, pacing while talking on his cell phone. He reportedly pointed his gun at officers, according the Sheriff’s Department.
The man had reportedly entered a home and that home was surrounded by SWAT, according to an NBC4 report.
At least three shots were fired by deputies just before 4:30 a.m. The man was given medical attention, but was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
