Police were searching for an armed suspect after a man was killed and a woman injured Thursday in a double shooting in Ventura, officials said.
The shootings were reported around 8:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Tapir Circle, according to the Ventura Police Department.
When police arrived, they found a 47-year-old man dead inside the home, and a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.
Police identified the suspect as Brandon Ellis, 29. The relationship between the suspect and the victims was unknown.
Investigators said Ellis is considered armed and dangerous.
Police also found a 16-month-old baby and another woman inside the home. Both were uninjured.
The injured woman was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and is undergoing surgery, police said.
