A vigil for a 22-year-old homeless man shot and killed by Santa Ana police brought out friends, family and community activists Thursday.
As mourners prayed the rosary, they remembered Hans Kevin Arellano. The unarmed homeless man was not armed when he was shot and killed by Santa Ana police on Tuesday.
Police were called to a McDonalds on Harbor Boulevard in response to reports of a disturbance at the fast-food restaurant. When they arrived, Arellano ran to a nearby juice store and was fatally shot shortly thereafter.
Tania Arellano said her brother may have been homeless, but he was not without loved ones.
"As you can tell, all his family is here so he did have family," she said.
That family, friends and community activists came together for a candle light vigil at the spot where he was killed.
"Enough is enough. I want to be here and I want to be respectful but at the same time, I'm pissed off," said Genevieve Huizar, whose son, Manuel Diaz, was shot and killed by Anaheim police last summer.

The death of Diaz, 25, touched off several days of protest in the Orange County city.
A protest over Arellano's death is scheduled for Saturday in Santa Ana. Mourners also asked supporters to attend the Santa Ana City Council meeting next week.
