A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Fe Springs and police searched Tuesday for the driver of the pickup truck that hit him.
Police responded about 7 p.m. Monday to the area near Lakeland Road and Painter Avenue, according to the Whittier Police Department.
"Responding officers found the victim, a 66-year-old male, suffering from major injuries," Whittier police Officer John Scoggins said. "The victim was transported to St. Francis Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.'' His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
A witness described the hit-and-run vehicle as an "older" white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was driven by a man.
