A small plane crashed Friday in a neighborhood in Glendale, narrowly missing homes, vehicles and residents.
The crash was reported at 9:47 p.m. in the area of Glenoaks Boulevard and Allen Avenue. In a miraculous outcome, the pilot and passenger exited the plane unharmed. No other injuries were reported.
Scores of people spilled out from a nearby Smart & Final to watch firefighters arrive and sift through the scene.
No smoke or flames erupted from the small plane. A cause for the unexpected crash has not been determined.
A small explosion erupted while authorities were cutting the wings of the plane in an effort to clear the scene. No injuries were reported.
The scene was cleared by 5 a.m.
Multiple agencies are investigating the crash.
