A helicopter with a fuel leak made an emergency landing in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area on Saturday morning, leaving two people onboard with injuries, officials said.
Emergency personnel responded around 9:30 a.m. to reports of a helicopter down at the park at Potrero Avenue and Lerma Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The helicopter lost power and rolled onto its side when it landed, the Federal Aviation Administration said. It leaked about 100 gallons of fuel.
The pilot was taken to the hospital, but the passenger declined medical treatment, fire officials said.
