Vigil to be Held Tuesday for Slain Redlands Teens

There will be a prayer vigil and walk Tuesday afternoon for the victims killed in last weeks shooting.

Up to 1,000 people will pay tribute to two slain Redland teenagers Tuesday afternoon for a prayer walk and vigil through the neighborhood where four black teenagers were shot last week.

The vigil was organized by the Rev. Floyd Roger Jones III of All People Unity Baptist Church, after comments from other teenagers in the neighborhood about racial tensions between blacks and Latinos, according to the Press-Enterprise.

No arrests have been made, but police have released a sketch of a Latino male suspect, according to the Press-Enterprise.

Quinn McCaleb, 17, and Andrew Jackson, 16, were killed Wednesday night on Oxford Street near Colton Avenue. McCaleb was found dead at the scene, and Jackson was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Loma Linda University Medical Center.

The two other teens were wounded.

The vigil will begin at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Sun Avenue and Post Street and will continue to Micah House at 1006 Oxford Dr., next door to the house of one of the victims.
