Firefighters attacked a small brush fire Tuesday afternoon near the border of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
The fire burned on a hillside near Yellowwood and Wellbrook drives in Westlake Village. Aerial video showed patches of flames on the hillside as wind drove smoke over a nearby neighborhood.
As of 12:30 p.m., no evacuations were ordered.
At least two helicopters were dropping water on the fire.
By around 4:40 p.m., the fire was completely contained, said the Ventura County Fire Department. It burned 10.3 acres, and a fire watch unit was staying on the scene overnight.
The fire broke out during a hot and dry stretch in Southern California. Cooler conditions are expected later this week.
