A 69-year-old woman was found dead inside a Palmdale mobile home after a fire was put extinguished.
The fire was reported Friday morning by a maintenance man, who spotted smoke and flames and notified management to call 911.
"She's up and down. She's going through early phases of Alzheimer's," the woman’s caretaker said.
The fire lead to a death investigation by LA County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives.
"At about 8 a.m., firefighters responded to a structure fire at a mobile home, put out the fire (and) discovered a deceased female inside," said Det. Kevin Acebedo.
Animal Control also responded to the fire because the woman's dogs and birds perished in the fire.
Investigators do not consider the woman's death suspicious.
