Firefighters were battling a wildfire near Moorpark in Ventura County early Tuesday.
Dubbed the "Happy Camp Fire," the blaze was burning in a grassy area near Happy Camp Canyon Road, said Ventura County Fire Department Spokesman Mike Lindbery.
The fire, reported just before 4 a.m., was not immediately threatening any structures. It remained steady at 50 acres as helicopters were en route to make water drops, Lindbery said.
By late Tuesday morning, crews were still extinguishing hot spots, according the the fire department's Facebook page.
Officials said more than 100 personnel were assigned to the firefighting effort at the peak of the fire.
