A man was found dead amid the raging 20,000-acre Sand Fire in Santa Clarita, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
Deputies responded to the 26700 block of Iron Canyon Road in Santa Clarita to investigate the death of a man.
Deputies said a person went missing on the same block of Iron Canyon Road, but it wasn't immediately clear if the person was trapped in the fire or had evacuated and not been able to get in touch with family.
It wasn't immediately clear where the body was found.
The body was burned, according to wire reports.
It still is unknown if the death was fire-related. The victim's age and identity were being withheld.
