A driver led authorities on a high-speed pursuit, reportedly almost striking a police cruiser, before it ended in the El Segundo area Wednesday afternoon.
Officers pursued the driver on the northbound 405 Freeway in the Carson area initially before the driver exited onto surface streets.
The driver then led police in the westbound lanes on the 105 Freeway, headed toward LAX during rush hour in moderate traffic.
The driver was wanted for speeding, and he almost struck a police cruiser, the CHP said.
The vehicle has been in one collision, but did not stop for officers.
He's weaving across lanes, including into the carpool lane at about 85 miles per hour.
The driver was taken into custody in the Hawthorne area at 5:50 p.m.
Officers performed a pit maneuver, then pulled him from the white Nissan.
