It's always tense inside AT&T Park when the San Francisco Giants host the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Police had concerns the home stand may turn violent after a group wearing Dodger gear beat Giants fan Brian Stow outside Dodgers Stadium following the Opening Day game.
Stow remains in a coma and may have suffered permanent brain damage, according to his doctors.
San Francisco police beefed up security and the Giants took a zero-tolerance stand inside the park Monday night, but by all accounts the fans policed themselves.
Most Giants and Dodgers fan said they planned to keep the rivalry good spirited. All baseball fans stood shoulder to shoulder during a pregame tribute to Stow and good sportsmanship.
Members of both the Dodgers and the Giants also gathered on the field together as a show of unity.
