How do you protect and serve a growing "tech savvy" generation? "Neighborhood Watch" is getting a cyber upgrade in one, small
Southern California city.
Los Alamitos police are known for their fast response time in Orange County. Now the department is using Twitter (@LosAlPD) and Facebook to send out information on crime and police activity faster. Among other things, residents can get updates on any criminal activity in their neighborhoods and how to keep themselves safe.
The department's motto is to make an impact, every hour, every day.
To receive the tweets and posts, you can sign up on the department's official website. But, police say, the high-tech communication is not designed to replace neighborhood meeting and face-to-fact chats.
