Dolly Parton, 9(PM) to 5(AM)

Ms. Parton flicks to play well past midnight on Fairfax.

What's your Dolly Parton song?

We've talked, at length, about "Here You Come Again" before. It's hard not to; it's a true four-fer. You know the four-fer, right? It's the song you have to play three more times after your initial listen. (We're on time two as we type this.)

But everyone has their favorite Parton play, and everyone who turns out at Silent Movie Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 27 will likely have a number of 'em. That's because Cinefamily will be screening Dolly Parton films from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Yep. 9 to 5. But the other way around. Night to morning. Brilliant. (Wait. Hold on. We have to start the song over. Okay, we're back.)

The films include "9 to 5," "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," and "Rhinestone." Oh yeah. Picture watching "Rhinestone" at like 3 o'clock in the morning. Opportunities like that don't come around often enough.

Cost is twelve bucks. We say go a bit glittery with whatever pajama-esque outfit you turn up in. Ms. Parton would. Have you seen the costumes in Dollywood's Chasing Rainbows museum? Lots of fringe. Heaps of sequins. And probably some sequins on fringe. If you show at Silent Movie Theatre in jeans, we'll be disappointed and so will everyone who understands life needs more sparkle.

Whoops. The song ended several minutes ago and we didn't get our last listen in; time to start it over one more time. It's the "looking better than a body has a right to" line that grabs every time. Every. Time.
