Lauren Coronado is a general assignment reporter for NBC4 News. She joined KNBC in July 2021.
Coronado’s broadcast journalism career is exclusive to Southern California. Since working in Los Angeles, she has covered a variety of stories, including the Monterey Park mass shooting, the 2023 historic blizzard warning, and the 2022 Superbowl.
Prior to her time at NBC4 News, she reported for the NBC affiliate in San Diego where she earned an Emmy award for her coverage of protests following the death of George Floyd. Before moving to San Diego, Coronado worked at KESQ; the ABC, CBS and FOX affiliate in Palm Springs. During her time in the desert, she reported on the 100-year storm that wiped out Highway 111, the Borderline Bar and Grill mass shooting and the Woolsey fire in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. She was also a regular fill-in anchor.
Coronado, a Los Angeles native, earned her bachelor’s degree in communication, with an emphasis in journalism, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She got her start in broadcast while interning for GRN Live, an international news agency, in London. Shortly after she interned with ABC News Los Angeles.
She enjoys spending time with her family, skiing, and cheering on Los Angeles sports teams.
