Stephanie Olmo is NBC4’s meteorologist for the evening weekend newscasts at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. and the NBC4 News at 11 a.m. weekdays. She is part of the award-winning weather team that has earned Most Accurate Weather Team in Southern California by WeatheRate for six consecutive years.
Olmo has reported a multitude of severe weather stories, including the 2019 historic snowstorm that broke records in Flagstaff, Arizona in a single day and impacted the area for several days. The following year she reported on one of largest wildfires in Arizona’s history known as the Bush Fire, which burned over 193,000 acres.
At the launch of her career, Olmo’s multimedia skills in weather forecasting and news reporting were demonstrated while at AccuWeather in State College, Pa., where she reported daily on local, regional, and national weather stories. Olmo also delivered national weather forecasts for ABC World News Now and Big Ten Network.
Prior to her arrival at NBC4, she was weekend meteorologist at KSAZ-TV in Phoenix, where she covered severe storms during the monsoon season as well as extreme heat in the Southwest. Throughout her career, Olmo has also enjoyed volunteering her time to charities, including visiting hospitalized children and supporting food banks.
Olmo is a graduate from Pennsylvania State University where she received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Broadcast Journalism and International Studies. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University. When not reporting the weather, Olmo enjoys exploring new restaurants, hiking, and hip-hop and salsa dancing.
