Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, she is proud to cover the stories of the people, businesses, and events that shape her hometown. With a deep connection to the area, Leong brings a unique perspective and a commitment to accuracy, fairness, and storytelling.
Her journalism career has taken her across the country, working as an anchor and reporter in Humboldt County and Redding, CA, Baltimore, MD, and Seattle, WA. These experiences have sharpened her storytelling skills, deepening her belief in the power of local journalism to inform, connect, and create change. She is passionate about shedding light on stories that matter, with a strong focus on issues affecting the Asian American community, animal welfare, and social justice.
Beyond the newsroom, Leong enjoys connecting with the community and exploring creative outlets. In her free time, she loves traveling to new places, painting, and spending time with her adventurous pup, Bella Bean.
Leong earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from Cal Poly Pomona.
