Learn the national dance of the Philippines

October is Filipino-American History Month so California Live’s Jobeth Devera is showing us her skills in Philippine folk dance with SF’s Kariktan Dance Company. In Tinikling, dancers step and twirl between rapidly clapped bamboo poles, depicting the moves of a long-legged bird as it hops to escape the bamboo traps set up by Filipino farmers amidst the rice stalks.
