A Rancho Palos Verdes home was left with a gaping hole in its roof after a car crash landed on it overnight.
Joann Killeen said she and her husband were about to have dinner in their home Sunday evening when they were interrupted by a loud crash.
"That was a loud sound," Killeen said. "I thought it was a gas explosion."
The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. Sunday at their home on the 28000 block of Santona Drive. There, debris remains scattered throughout the property.

"Everything here has to be replaced," Killeen said.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the driver of a Mercedes lost control on Granvia Altamira Road and went over an embankment right before crashing into the home. The driver, who was described as an elderly woman, was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
