Scratch that. We hope you never stopped wearing those boots, and the gorgeous get-ups that summoned to mind Siouxsie Sioux, or her Banshees. The eye-liner, the dark duds, the spiky-crown coiffures, so amazing.
The drama, is all we're saying. Bassist Steven Severin, one of the founding members of Siouxsie & The Banshees, is still devoted to creating drama, and music threaded with mystery and surprise. Curious? He'll be at the Silent Movie Theatre on Wednesday, January 13th and Thursday, January 14th.
On the 13th, Mr. Severin will be playing his evocative "Music to Silents" alongside the silent film "The Seashell and the Clergyman"; on the 14th, "Blood of a Poet" screens alongside a brand-new score by the composer.
When you think of the music and flair of the Banshees, and then you think of the flickery beauty of a silent film, you stop thinking and just feel the slightest chill of delight. Plus, Siouxsie's make-up? We'd never realized. So 1920s-gamine-meets-CBGB.
