Beasties of Every Stripe (and Scale) Rule Expo

Our dogs are central to our lives, and we well understand that urge that our fellow pet people have to drive 117 miles to watch an iguana drink from a tiny bottle or a pretty kitty cat give itself a tongue bath. We'll go anywhere, any day of the week, to enjoy the magic and majesty of the animal kingdom. Or to purchase a wittle dog bed that's especially cute and fluffy. Anywhere.

And, come springtime, that dog- and cat- and bird-centered drive is not a long one, and what's at the other end is mighty massive. That's because that's when America's Family Pet Expo romps into Costa Mesa. And if you're wondering what is there, well, if it has to do with, can be fed to, can be worn by, and/or can be taught to and/or learned from a pup or a meower or a parakeet or a gekko or a gerbil, attendees will find it. (One thing that won't be found, and we should make mention, are actual pets -- the Expo honchos ask that everyone leaves their own sweeties at home.)

The Expo boasts a huge roster of police dog demonstrations, bird shows, food booths, celebrity pets (including that famous skateboarding bulldog!), a mondo adoption fair, grooming experts, and aquariums and ponds and pooch parades and kitty toys and chihuahua sweaters and more. It's an event of pet-a-stronomic proportions, to say the least.

We're keen to go to just be near so much adorableness. But, if we happen to spy a hot pink spiked collar for purchase, well, so be it.
