The au jus is practically simmering to a boil as Cole's, one of LA's oldest eateries (and one of the two famed French Dip palaces, along with Philippe's) prepares to reopen to much fanfare after undergoing a major renovation. 213, the force behind Cole's and downtown's blossoming nightlife scene, hosts an early benefit for the LA Conservancy on Thursday, December 4 (before the restaurant is officially open).
Dress the part? Attendees are encouraged to come in flapper-ish, 1920s-era finery, or at least something beyond shorts and flip-flops. There are actually two parties on Thursday night -- the early shift, 6:30-9:30PM, is $50, and includes munchies, cocktails and a dance performance celebrating a century of Cole's. The later party -- that's the one from 9:30PM-12:30AM -- is $25, and boasts food, drink and a DJ. Whatever time you pick, it is recommended that you get your tickets ahead of time through the site, as they may sell out.
A fringe-y headband, a low-lit, wood-panel-y room, and savory, succulent French Dips, all in the name of keeping a great organization going. We're calling for a toast.
