Frodo + Flute + Fun

MOVIE MUSIC: It's been a funny few days, full of minor coincidence, but if you're a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien, perhaps you're more inclined to believe in magic over mere happenstance (we'll buy into that, too). Just when we got to marveling about the close-in-time convergence of "Star Wars" in Concert and Video Games Live, we received word that the "Lord of the Rings" concert tour would be galloping our way in the autumn. It's a show that has 200 musicians playing the full Howard Shore-penned score to "The Fellowship of the Ring." Which poses the question if every epic or adventurous thing now have its own classically minded live spin-off? We think so. But more than that, we think we need to tell you the important news regarding this: There are but two Southern California dates listed.

AND THOSE DATES ARE... October 13 and 15, and the respective locations are San Diego and Anaheim. (Note that there is no Los Angeles date listed.) Will some people go to both? Indeed. Will some people go to both in costume? We rarely pull out "indeed" twice in a row, but we must: indeed. Will some people even hit the Las Vegas night, which is happening between San Diego and Orange County? That question calls for but a single word: indeed. It's sure to be the perfect fall night outing for the LOTR lover, but best make haste and secure your ticket soon.
