RESEDA, Calif. -- Responding to what turned out to be a false alarm, three people, including a firefighter, suffered minor injuries in a collision between a Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance and a minivan in Reseda on Tuesday.
The crash in the 7000 block of North Reseda Boulevard was reported about 11:50 a.m., said d'Lisa Davies of the LAFD.
Davies said that the ambulance was on its way to a structure fire, which turned out to be a false alarm.
"It never got there," she said.
Davies also said the normal procedure in a case like this is for the ambulance to stop and render aid. Another ambulance was then dispatched to the fire.
Davies said the firefighter/paramedic driving the ambulance was hurt, as were a man and a woman in the minivan. All three were taken to hospitals for treatment.
