Following a crowded ballot of 23 candidates vying for the 34th congressional district seat in the April 4, 2017 Special Election, the final two candidates, Gomez and Ahn, will go head-to-head in the June 6, 2017 runoff.
The coveted position previously held by now California Attorney General Xavier Becerra spans culturally diverse and highly- influential downtown neighborhoods including Boyle Heights, Chinatown, El Sereno, Glassell Park, Koreatown and Mount Washington.
A Gomez win would re-fill the seat with a Latino in a district that is 64 percent Latino and an Ahn win would send the first Korean-American to Congress.
Candidates will discuss their position on a variety of issues that will have a direct effect on all constituents of the 34th congressional district.
