BALDWIN PARK, Calif. -- A big rig overturned Tuesday on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Baldwin Park and came to rest across the lanes, prompting authorities to close the eastbound freeway and two transition roads.
The accident was reported about 7:30 a.m. east of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Authorities also closed the transition road from the northbound and southbound 605 Freeway to the eastbound 10 Freeway while crews worked to clear the scene, and traffic was backed up for miles.
The trucker was treated for a minor injury, said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos. The cause of the accident was under investigation.
Two eastbound lanes were reopened about 9:15 a.m., but the transition roads remained closed, Villalobos said.
